  1. Have two gold bug 2's for sale. Used mainly at Rich Hill and Rye Patch NV. with good results. Asking price is $400 each plus shipping. Both come with 6 1/2 and 10" coils. If interested, send me a PM. For those interested, I live in Colorado.
  2. Sorry Chris, and thanks for the words of encouragement, The fittings that are between the pump and the PVC are different on my unit from the ones shown in the two attached links. I honestly don't remember what they looked like during the demo. I purchased the unit 23 Sept and it's set since then. Possibly the fittings are the same, but all problems might have been eliminated. Where the hose from the pump attaches to the water flow control valve, it leaks as well as the valve itself. The hose shown in the videos is ribbed while the ones that came with the units were not. Bottom line, the units sold at the shows, the fittings are inferior to the ones in the links. The situation might be fixed by using small adjustable hose clamps at the site of the leak, but that's ghetto looking, and shouldn't be necessary. when I spoke with the person who makes the unit, it was explained the hose need to be pulled back some so the little spines on the plastic would engage with the hose, thereby stopping the leak. Didn't work. Being a retired accountant, I never developed the skills needed to tinker with things. My downfall. However one shouldn't have to go to Home Depot/Lowes to fix something which should have worked from the get go. I suppose I have a case of sour grapes, but you learn from your mistakes. Whole reason for the venting and putting on this forum is the company is located in Youngtown AZ. However, any comments towards fixing the problem from those who are able to build and fix things is greatly appreciated.
  3. by chance was a demonstration by Pro Gold Prospecting on the Black Magic Fine Gold Recovery Sluice performed at this show? The person doing the demo was at the Denver Gold Show and I purchased one I realize it's a 'buyer beware' situation , but I've had nothing but trouble with it's performance since the owner of Pro Gold called and left a gruff message in response to a letter I sent him; the letter wasn't too flatering the product is sitting in a corner of the garage gathering dust (guess I'll need to go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get some good fittings like what's shown on youtube). Just a heads up if you're considering spending your money, as I see it as just another gimick to help you part with your $ (just my opinion). the underflow sluice (pretty pricy) or a blue bowl would work just as good if not better for fine gold recovery. not trying to bad mouth the outfit. However, I thought I'd voice my 2 cents about it (sure glad there aren't other emoticons for me to get into trouble with). some might be wowed by it, I'm not. I expect to be thorougly chastised for my comments. rob - I know he's a friend of yours, but don't delete my gripe. let me reap what I sow.
  4. Congratulations!! I can just imagine the feeling you had - well, actually I can't. You and Lucky really epitomize what nugget hunters are, and should be - relentless!! Again congratulations. h20prospector
  5. Scorpian21, Right in your back yard is the #1 authority on Rye Patch. Gerry McMullen of Gerry Metal Detectors, 1101 N. 15th Street Boise - 208-345-8898. Tell him Pat from Colorado said hi, and to look you up. h20prospector
  6. Grubstake, Understand your commitment. My wife and I have been married 36 years and religious beliefs are in our way too. The system needs fixing among other things. h20prospector
  7. Grubstake, As a retired account and tax pro, you would be surprised at the number of people who actually do what you are proposing, just to reap the benefits (California deserves this, illegals take advantage, plus this is perfect justice to SB670) You should seriously give it some consideration. After all, con's fleeced this country by drawing social security while they were in jail or prison, and worse, but that's just my two cents on the subject. h20prospector
  8. Ron, All I can say is I'm very jealous! I think everyone on this forum would like to stowaway in your checked baggage!!! ( any possibilities?) Wish you nothing but the very best of luck. I hope you are able to hit it big and leave the country with your finds. Just don't loose your backpack! h20prospector
  9. Grubstake, Would a monthly donation to assist you in getting better computer service help? Financially I am not in the best shape as this economy and the current administration suck, but I can afford a couple bucks a month to assist. Send me a message on the forum if you would rather discuss it that way. I for one am willing to assist to help out a fellow Vietnam Vet, etc, etc, etc. h20prospector
  10. Rob, Since I have high speed Internet, your changes really don't affect me. I have Foxfire and Google Chrome that connect me much faster than Internet Explorer 8 browser! For me the changes are cosmetic, for others that have only have dial-up service available it's life changing. If there is a way to provide better service to these people, then by all means do it. Thanks, and in the interest of site security I understand your reason for updating. h20prospector
  11. Rob, Hate to say this, but your forum now has the same look as Nugget Shooter. In addition, why I don't know, I'm not able to reply to any messages sent to me from other members. I understand your older versions got hacked, and I'm sorry to say this, but this new version acts like a sears vacuum, it sucks. h20prospector
  12. El Dorado, Where do you find the swing arm? I've looked on line an don't seem to find mention or I'm not entering correctly in Google. I noticed it in a recent video that Nuggetslayer took of Lucky and he had one on his detector. Any information is appreciated. h20prospector
  13. Hi All, Since this is the place to get good, solid advice, I'll ask. Those of you that have the SD2200V2, is there a good setting to hunt in besides what is recommended by the factory? I live in Colorado which isn't well known for nuggets like LuckLindy, NuggetSlayer, Rob, Uncle Ron and others have shown in their posts. It's pretty much flour & fine, with the occasional picker, plus the ground isn't as mineralized like Arizona. Not having a 4x4 or a vehicle I'm not afraid of getting scratched, marred, or dinged up, I'm pretty limited on where I can go. However, there are dredge and tailing piles in the gold belt areas of the state, and getting permission to hunt them isn't all that hard to obtain. I also have a couple of GB2's in my arsenal, but want to get more familiar with the Minelab. I'm getting it modded to accept a Gold Button on a straight shaft. Additionaly, if anyone has or knows someone that has a Coiltek 14" DD Pro Elite in pretty good shape, and is willing to sell it for a reasonalble price, let me know as I understand that is a good coil for my machine. Any and all comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks. h20prospector
  14. The guy proved a point. The average person doesn't have a clue about the value of gold, and are skeptical to boot (not a prospector in the bunch either), but that's just two cents on the subject. It also shows, unfortunately, how little people value Canadian money. h20prospector
