  1. I have been looking for a probe and I found the DetectorPro Uniprobe site and wanted to ask if anyone has tried that probe. I see on the site that Rob and Steve are both listed as dealers. What kind of depth would you have with the Uniprobe? Finding a probe to get between some rocks and in crevices would be a bonus. Here is a link, http://www.detectorpro.com/uniprobes.htm
  2. Hi, I have been following along and learning some new things. The mention of probes for tight places has brought up a question that I have about a detector I saw advertised, the Facon MD 20. I see that they have a handle that can be added. Has anyone used one of these for probing between rocks? What kind of depth does the Falcon have? Any thoughts on this detector? Thanks!
  3. Actually we just might be interested. Where is the show? Rod
  4. Thanks for the replys guys. Looking forward to hearing more.
  5. Hi, I am a member of the forums and have been watching and learning. Now I have a few questions for those that wouldn't mind taking the time to give some input. We have an Embroidery, Sign, and Graphics business and are going to have a booth at a show that our local club, Washington Prospectors Mining Association, is putting on the weekend of February 24 & 25. What I would like to know is, when you go to a show what kind of items might be of interest? What sayings on hats, stickers, and shirts would you be interested in buying? Any input would be appreciated. We are trying to get some items ready for the show and would like to know what you have seen at shows, or would have liked to see at shows when it comes to these types of items. These are some items we are thinking about: Hats Shirts – T-Shirt and Denim Stickers Parking type signs Sayings or items we are thinking about: Club logo I'd rather be..., Metal Detecting, Prospecting, Dredging Prospecting, an American Tradition (with either a Eagle or Flag embroidered) Prospector Parking Only Washington Prospector Mining Association Member Parking, All Others will be towed. Thanks for the help! Either post here or email me at Rod@Dormik.com
  6. Thanks for the reply Rob. I know its not a MineLab but I hope it will be good for us to get detecting and learn about chasing nuggets. Sounds like you had fun in Alaska. What detectors were being used up there. By looking at Steve's site it looks like he likes both the MineLab and the MXT, at least by his last report I read on his site. Thanks again for answering and giving some advise.
  7. Hi, First post although I have been reading the forum for awhile now. I have a question on search coils for the Whites MXT. My girlfriend and I each got a MXT recently and with the purchase we got a credit of $150.00 with each machine. We need to decide pretty soon how to spend that credit. I am more interested in nugget shooting, while my girlfriend is more into the relic/coin shooting. These are our first detectors so we are still learning. So the question is which coil should we get? I am including a link to the Whites page with the description of the coils. Looks like DFX/MXT/M6 5.3 (6x6) Eclipse Search Coil or the DFX/MXT/M6 DD (6x10) Eclipse Search Coil may be the best choices. http://www.whiteselectronics.com/loopsw.php Which would work best for nugget shooting? Which would work best for coin/relic shooting? I have heard that the stock coil is fairly good and we have found a few items each time we have gone out. I have not had a chance to nugget shoot yet though. We will be mostly in the Washington and Montana area. My girlfriends parents have a place in Yuma, Arizona that we would like to visit. Not sure how these detectors would do in Arizona though. Or if that part of Arizon is any good for nugget shooting. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any advice and pointers that may be given.
