  1. It was a 14” mono elite coil, I plan on getting the 17x13 nf coil to try on it. Curious to see how stable it is with bigger coils
  2. The small nugget was found about 3-4” deep. The bigger ones were a little over a foot, it was 2.8 grams and 2 grams but clear signals and no way to miss them. I plan on playing playing with the settings more this next weekend. The detector feels like a completely new machine with the mods, acts and even sounds different. I think wait time on mine was 3 weeks, one week to ship there, 1 week for them to work on the unit and a week for shipping back to me in California.
  3. Had my gpx 4500 modified a few weeks ago and was able to get out and use it last weekend, so I figured id write a review on my experience with it so far. The machine very different than before, my favorite is the manual tuning to what size/ depth gold you are Targeting. I didn’t play with this too much but had it set on manual tune between 150-165 depending on EMI. This setting is for basic detecting. I was on new ground and didn’t want to target small or big gold without knowing if there was even any there. I plan on playing with this more my next trip back. Next up is the variable front end gain they add to the detector, the slightest turn of the knob is crucial because it can make it super sensitive or you can turn it up too high and won’t pick anything up, I think I had it too high my first day because it was much more noisy and only dug a few shallow targets. This front end gain works with the back gain in your lcd menu. I had my back gain set at 7 and the new front gain between 35-50%. This gave me the best results for the mineralized ground I worked in through the weekend. I did have to turn it down if it got too noisy in really bad ground. I feel this upgrade was worth the money spent and would do it again. I was in an area that was detected before and was able to pick up a few nuggets. Not sure if they were just targets they missed or if they didn’t pick them up with their machine. Overall the machine is much smoother/quieter and more sensitive. Here is a pic of what I found. The big one was 2.8 grams and the smallest one would not register on my scale but is approximately .1-.2 of a gram.
  4. That's good to know, thanks Roo, I was surprised to feel that the elite is heavier then my 18" round gold stalker coil
  5. Thank you guys. It was a good weekend out since I haven't had much luck down here near Mesa, AZ. I'm looking forward to see how the 17x13 evolution coil will do compared to the Coiltek elite. It will be a good comparison.
  6. That is impressive, just another example of how important it is to have an extremely stable threshold, I'm sure I've passed over quite a few signals like this and just figured it was mineralization or gain was up a little to high. Awesome video!
  7. I finally got up to gold basin this weekend armed with the new Coiltek elite coil purchased from Rob and will have to admit I'm very impressed with the depth and sensitivity. I was able to get 5 nuggets out of an old patch that I worked heavily with the NF 14x9 previously months before. The nugget finder was my favorite coil, able to pick up real fine gold at depth but I have never dug down 7 inches to pull out a .12 grain nugget out of bed rock. The biggest nugget I pulled out this weekend was .8 of a gram and was well over a 10 inches and and heard it clear as day. I am looking forward to working some more of my old patches being confident that I will find others pieces I have missed. Also, was able to score 4 meteorites while I was there, sorry haven't weighed those yet but they're pretty good ones. Anybody have any questions about this coil is free to message me.
  8. Right on! Thank you lucky Lundy, I'll have to do some research on that, I was up at little san domingo wash yesterday but did not have much luck, first time there and not enough time to find the best ground. It almost seems like san domingo has been worked hard like gold basin, getting harder to find those nuggets, a lot of really good detector it's out there to compete with. Very excited for it to be cool again and be out every weekend all weekend. Anybody ever want to schedule a day out, just p.m me.
  9. I didn't know about those, I work at Ray mine and drive there everyday, I was unaware of claims down there, I will have to join them, I heard they're probably the best for Phoenix area, thank you. -Daniel Foley
  10. Thanks rob. I'll have to do some research on those areas, trying to find somewhere to go out for a few hours tomorrow. Have been real busy with work and not much free time to detect nor do any research. - Daniel Foley
  11. Hello, I just moved down to San tan valley from kingman area and was curious of where to do some nugget hunting in the region, have not had much luck finding anything fairly close and was wondering if you can help me out. Thanks
  12. Where to hunt near Phoenix area?
