  1. Ok I'll bite...why the oxen? Are their shoes different?
  2. Hey Doc, always put about 5 gallons of water into your black tank after dumping..along with the deodorizer. Helps keep things clean in there when driving around empty (sometimes paper and such gets hung up when you empty your tank and can harden into a difficult situation). You may need more or less. It is helpful to have liquid in there so you don't end up with a pyramid under the throne ;). Get a solar panel and/or extra battery. LED lights.
  3. Thanks Tortuga, I will remember that next time.
  4. I was out for a bit today doing my part to clean up our public lands and I had a strange occurrence while using my new garret at pinpointer. I was using a big coil for the first time and got a broad signal which I was questioning as to whether it was mineralization or target...sounded good enough to investgate. I dug it down about 5-6 inches and it seamed louder but still could not tell where it was. I got out the pinpointer and it sounded off. I scooped up a handful and it sounded off in my hand but only for a couple seconds. As I tried to find it, it disappeared. Puzzled I rechecked to hole and got a signal with the pinpointer in the same area...this routine went on for many go-arounds. My question is will a pinpointer sound off on mineralization and after it is separated from the ground it fades out? I was too frustrated to fill my hole. I will go back there with the gbpro and see what it says. Anyone else experience something like this before?
  5. Hello guys, I got a day to go out with my buddy and we had a great time! No gold to report, but I got to see some pretty desert and canyon country. Made some more memories with a childhood friend. The real gold! Jasong was right about the lead! I ran a pan from a good looking crevice and I think I could have reloaded a shotgun shell with all the lead shot from just that one pan!
  6. Ha! Thanks for the encouragement Jasong! Did you find any gold along with the lead?
  7. Thanks I will take the stock coil and the 5 x 10. Also taking my 3000 with nf12rm. It hits on pretty small stuff too. I appreciate your input Rob. Thanks for your guidance while my wife was ordering my Christmas present...been playing around with that garret pro pointer and it seems pretty sweet!
  8. Thanks Rob, I just happen to have the gbpro! Not big on shafts though...hopefully there will be coarse gold in the drainage.
  9. I am going to visit a buddy in bullhead...I have found he is in a rich area! Mostly lode gold in deep shafts:( I found references multiple times to placer in silver Creek. I can't find specifics as to fines or detectable gold...can anyone confirm there is detectable gold in this drainage? I know it is not far from gold basin (day trip) but this Creek is just a utv ride from his house...any help would be appreciated Thanks Matt
  10. Merry Christmas everyone! Sorry for your loss Grubstake...hope fond memories will keep you warm in that snow this Christmas.
  11. Hey Jim, you really put things into perspective...road crews today would say this will take 6 months or a year to correct! When under serious need, forces would correct this in a few days or maybe a week! I guess it comes down to motivation! Glad you shared your perspective on this. Matt
