  1. Nice looking gold...lots of "character" in those nuggets. Still haven't had a chance to get my Fors Gold out for some nugget shooting..should have tried it when down in Ca. but stuck to busting bedrock instead. Come spring, I'm heading back down there for at least a week, and this next trip should be al nugget shooting.
  2. Haven't seen him on a site in a few days..maybe he's out there cleaning out a patch?
  3. Happy Birthday Rob! (A day late, but it still counts!)
  4. Hey Grubby Spent the better part of 10 years running OTR, and most of that was with a a 45x96 skateboard or 53' step-deck behind me. Pulled a few loads of military hardware and vehicles, but thanks to a strong survival instinct I never accepted any loads that could possibly go "Boom!". Hung it up in 2000. Miss the open road a bit now and then, but I just remind myself what glare ice looks like, or having to put up with lot lizards every time ya try to get a good nights sleep at a truck stop. I'm 4F now, but gotta admit it'd be fun to get back out there for a run and wear out a few gears. Do they still put real trannys into trucks, or have they call gone to automatics? 'Bout hurt myself laughing the first time I saw one of those automatics, but everyone swears they're the cats meow. Just don't see the fun in it.. Mike
  5. Ron, Mexican Grey Wolves typically run 60-80 lbs. according to what I can find, and that's about double what your average coyote might weigh. With the color and size differences it should be pretty easy to distinguish between the two. Apparently these are the most endangered of all North American wolves, so hopefuly it will head for greener pastures. Give your local Game Warden a call and let him know you've seen it, and maybe they can get it relocated back into the deep mtns. again before someone shoots it.
  6. Anytime a manufacturer decides to sell direct it's the same as taking income away from theeir dealers and distributors. If Minelab had dedicated distributors/retailers broken up geographically, they should be paying a commission to the dealer in that geographic area for the sale. Unfortunately, that is not the case here, and Minelab is taking a huge risk with their US customer base IMO. Rather than sell direct, instead Minelab should immediately refer any calls they get to the nearest dealer (geographically). They [dealers] stand a much better chance of making the sale, the customer is is treated right by a dealer whose very liveleyhood depends on returning customers, brand loyalty increases and the manufacturer stays in business. Making a purchase from a local representative or dealer is pretty much always the best choice. Not just in price, but in post-sale service and support. Dealers like Rob will get in there and fight for their customers when there are issues with a machine, and they'll take the time to teach and support their customers. A factory on the other side of the planet can't do that. Lose their network of dealers and Minelab's sales will plummet in the months following. Although the Minelab units are beyond my pay grade, if I ever was able to afford one it would be worth the flight to AZ. to get it from Rob. No doubt he'd take me to his favorite nugget patch to teach me how to use it..
  7. Still huntin' for my first, but you guys sure provide some great motivation!
  8. Great video and nice gold ta boot! Interesting how you blend the stills in with the video footage, and it made a good video even better.
  9. Bones take time to heal, so be patient with yourself. Keep getting better, and you'll be back out there before ya know it! Thoughts and prayers for your fast healing! Mike
  10. What I found to be unavailable were the Gold Bug Pro 2-coil Combo's. Searched high and low for one, and came up with zip. Did order a GBPro (NOT from KellyCo) and it will be here tomorrow, which is just in time for me to leave Sunday on a 2-week prospecting trip down to Nevada and Calif. Won't be time here at home to spend with it, so I'll be getting a hands-on education in the field! Read (and watched) everything I can find on it, so I'm all set as far as the controls, etc. Biggest issue I expect is getting used to the varying tones, etc. FWIW, if KellyCo still doesn't have it, then you can cancel your order and get one from Rob (likely same price) and have it in a couple days!
