  1. Hi All, It's been a while since I have posted here; had a death in the family Anyway, I am trying to help a freind who puts on a mining camp for kids, I need a ounce or two of "fines" -25 mesh. I have traded larger stuff here with someone local to me in Sacramento, hopefully he is still around and can vouch I am a strait shooter. I have 160 acres on a prime creek in Plumas county and like company in the woods while dredging. I can only get up there about 30 days in the summer wish I could do it more but, my "day" job pays well. Problem: I am stone cold out of small stuff; I need an ounce or two of -25 mesh or fines. will pay 80+% spot for fines. If you know anyone that has it and wants to sell it. Call me Dennis 916-690-1469 dennis_A_white@yaoo.com Sorry if this is not the correct forum to post this
  2. That piece will be underwater? with the jerking back and fourth as you get clogs and move the hose. I think if you're "running right" and clean up a few times a week you should be fine. I am not saying it won't work....as a long time dredger in an area with lots of fine gold....doesn't look too sexy to me.... maybe I dont understand the concept correctly..... Kudos for the concept......it might just work.... Heck if you catch gold in it I might buy one from you
  3. That big one is awesome! signed the guy always looking to break his personal best. 105 grains
  4. Wow!!!! That is the best collection I have seen! I have been taking it easy this year but in past years I have worked my butt off and spent a small fortune for a fraction of what you have. Congrats!!! I just starting beeping this year and finally learned how to do it right.... You must of had the best time digging that stuff up
  5. Yeah I screwed up some really nice quartz/gold pieces with wink and or acid.....it turned it grey and pourus....really wrecked it...... Most of what I have found in the past is placer from the creek and is usually buttery yellow or has mercury on it which is another hassle. The last nice quartz piece i got from the dirt I scrubbed with a tooth brush and soap...It cleaned up perfect........ I doubt I will ever sell my stuff other than fines from concentrates,
  6. My picture taking is bad but here are the three I got to take home......my buddy kept 3 about the same size and we gave the biggest to the property owner as a good gesture...it might have been 2 or 3 dwt... These went 1.9, 1.3 and 1.2 grams.........A bit smaller than my original estimate but I would be happy if they were 1/4 the size they are I used wink on these to clean them up works pretty good........Do you guys use anything that does a good job and is less of a hassle.....wink has to soak for 8 hours and I guess it's rather toxic? Cheers
  7. Very nice--I like the pic with the nugget sitting on top very cool. Is that broken up quartz in the dirt.....that looks like the stuff I was working on saturday. congrats
  8. Thanks Chris, you and some of the others have really helped me learn and that's greatly appreciated. I have long wanted to learn how to detect but with 3 dredges sitting on the bank it's tuff to put in the long hours to learn when you know you can get it everytime in the water. Me and my claim partners are having a hard time adjusting to finding gold in the dirt versus dredging/sniping. I just met a guy that hunted my claim two years ago and found an 8 and 4 oz nuggets with a beeper.....he was a freind of my partners dad...not sure what unit he is using...... hopefully I will learn some more from him......I will get some pics of the big nuggets...they are nice looking....
  9. It was private property through gold country.....we were within the scope of the law.
  10. Went hunting with an freind today for an 8 hour beeping session in hot weather......we took turns digging as we shared the detector After about 50-100 hours of blanks I finally found some good ground...... I will post pics later; I am dead tired and have to work tomorrow. Question: I was using a GB 2 with the 6 inch coil and I had a hard time zero-ing in on large targets sitting right on top of bed rock.....we found them it just was not as easy as it should of been..... Am I doing something wrong? Also in the el dorado national forest what is highest elevation anyone here has found the yellow? I think that area will produce huge......we found it @ the end of the day when we were just about to quit when we hit 7 pennyweight or bigger pieces...... I cant hunt it for @ least a week....my pal is taking the detector to our claim for a week,, So I might start selling my gold to get a new beeper..... Bushed.....g'night
  11. Very pretty gold....... Pics like that keep me motivated even though I keep striking out.
  12. Nope that's a nice rack.........Please dont kill my fantasy....nuggets, boobs......it's all good
  13. It's never fun you're the guy dealing with it.......but I know many people that have gone threw this and are fine many years later....... for what its worth
