  1. That was great. I would have hated to be him though. Thanks for posting Jen Bill
  2. The forget me not claim is South of the Roadrunner claim, straight across the creek bed from the old cemetery going West. it continues up the side of the hill for around 200 feet, if I remember correct and southward from there. Its alot of hunting between the rocks. I seen several rattle snakes there a couple of years ago along with two Gila Monsters. Be very careful hunting there. I couldn't get through the Mining shack road. there were piles if rock and people working in the creek bed itself. Weaver Creek road was locked up also. Bill
  3. I've been a member of Weaver for 4 years now. I just paid my dues again the 1st of Oct. I was informed that Julie had left the club but it has not closed, just moved the office to the Old Trading Post. I did speak with Dan (cant remember his last name right now) He told me that the club had downsized a little due to the fee change by BLM or whoever. That being said I hunted and found a 1.1gm nugget on one of their claims. That nearly paid for my dues. Now, The real problem I did encounter was not being able to access a club claim that I paid to access. This was not any fault of the club but rather a private mining outfit that has closed off the access road. They most likely have good reason (in their own mind) lord knows we are sometimes our own worst enemy. Hunting the Wrong Area, leaving Trash and holes unfilled. Please be respectful while out hunting. Bill
  4. I know I sure appreciate the service. Last year I ordered a new power cable to close to my trip out to Az. when it hadnt arrived before my departure from Houston Rob came thru. he drove to Wickenberg in the evening after getting off work to deliver me a cable. That is a dealer that cares about his customers having a good time. I almost forgot, Rob didnt charge for the service or the new power cable that he delivered. He just asked that when I return home I return the one his wife had mailed to me. Great Preson. Kinda like the people that do business with a hand shake. I'll definately buy from Rob again. Bill
  5. Hi Chuck. Put my name in. I hunt both Nuggets and Coins. Lord knows I prefer Nugget Hunting but there just arent any "Gold" Nuggets to be found in Houston. Bill Dugger
  6. I also think it must be the coil. My GBP will scream on a .4gr nugget with either the 4" or the 10" coil. The nugget mentioned was actually found with the 4" coil about 3" deep between the rocks near Congress Az last year. Bill
  7. Thats a once in a lifetime find. Lundy, I think it might be a hobby ending nugget after the disappointment of attempting to top it. If it were me I'd be out there trying to find an even bigger one. Bill
  8. Tom you'd better find something to put around the head of that pick..... That would make for a painful landing if anything were to happen. Good Luck Bill
  9. Hi Glen. Did you send it to the Minelab West service center in Chandler Az? My 4500 had some sort of short which burned some components and nearly all the traces on the circuit board. I sent it to them and they had it nearly a month. They had to search out a good circuit board that could be rebuilt. After I got it back the signal was smooth when I turned it on and the entire time it was on unless over a target. I hunted with a couple of others there around Rich Hill and they said they had never heard one run so smooth. Not only smooth signal but it worked I found both my 1st and 2nd nugget while I was there. I had to wait but it was worth it. Hope yours gets back soon so you can keep "cleaning up". Bill
  10. I guess I'll have to add the picture later. But lesson learned. And more important my 1st and 2nd nuggets. Can't wait to head back to Az. Bill
  11. Very Nice. Just about 2 weeks ago I was at Rich Hill with a friend. I was using a GB pro and kept digging small lead shot and pieces of rusted screen from a quartz vein running across a wash. I moved up about 15 yrds or so when my friend went over the same area I'd just left. He called out to me and said "wasn't" you digging here? I told him what I'd been digging and he reminded me that I should dig every target. I then returned. He and I then dug 3 more pieces of lead, then broke the whitish rock around the quartz and dug the last target. It is the one on the left. The one on the right was dug about 20 minutes later maybe 30 ft down the wash.
  12. Thanks for the info folks. I'm not sure what the problem was this time. ML West replaced the circuit board. Hopefully there won't be any more issues. I tested the " used " battery I purchased from an individual and the voltage showed 8.3v then immediately drops to 0.03v. That I'm Afraid might be a short and might send a spike to the detector or something. Either way I will not be using that battery until I send it to Ml and they say it is good. Thanks for all the replies. And I ordered a New power cord from Rob (just in case) Bill
