  1. Jonathan, you would know this one I am sure! Is the lithiam ion battery as good as the gell cell battery for the GP extreme. Am in need of new battery and want to get the best one for my Minelab. Thanks. I realize it is an older unit - but this is what I have to work with.

  2. Hello Grubstake We have never met but I have read some of your posts on the forum. I have enjoyed reading your posts. I wanted to respond to this last one to say that we are all concerned when a fellow adventurist is having some difficulty. I'm glad you posted this to let us know. You will be in my prayers tonight... It sounds like you have had your share of physical problems too. I have had a few also. You know You said you are 61 well, ok I'm 68 I had a guy tell me a couple of days ago when I was out in the ditches by Stanton AZ that I was just a kid. I laughed, then I thought you know he is right. As compared to what I was looking at I guess I am a kid. I couldn't put numbers on this guy, but I know he was up their somewhere way above me in age. Im going to keep thinking like a kid as long as i can and I hope you do too. We are going to have our upsets along the way but were going to over come them all. Iwent on Google Earth to find out where Maracopa was at. It looks like you have a lot of good places to prospect around there. One day when your 68 your going to be out nugget hunting and some old guy is going to walk up to you and in your conversation is going to ask you how old you are, and then hes going to call you a kid,I hope thats me. Im going to be looking for you out there. GOD BLESS and PROTECT YOU Nugget Man
  3. Sorry it took so long to answer you - internet has been down for several days. But, to answer your question - NO, Y-Not is a mining club LIKE GPAA only cheaper dues and has more ground - but located right next to GPAA in the Rich Hill area. Hope this helps! Nugget Man
  4. enjoying this forum very much, learning a lot from you guys here Thank You...

  5. Fantastic Doc Im with you all the way on this one. We need to see a whole lot more videos like this one. Im 68 years old now and have never seen this Country go down as far as it has here lately. I cant tell you how much I dislike this present leader that we find ourselves with. You know there is a big difference between having charector and being one. I love the tea party movement thats sweeping across our Nation and am proud to say so. Id like to see the honest people of our Country stand up and take it back. Mabey its time to show them what TAR AND FEATHERS look like again. Mabey that would shake some of them into reality. Nugget Man
  6. Yep sure looks like a great find to me. Wish I had some of that Calif. mud down here in Az. I know a little about that cabin fever, thats why im down here in AZ. Nugget Man
  7. I BELIEVE I HAVE BEEN IN THAT AREA A FEW TIMES. I WISH YOU WOULD HAVE LEFT JUST A LITTLE BIT THERE. IVE SEEN THAT BACKDROP A FEW HUNDRED TIMES AND NOW REALIZE HOW GOOD A JOB YOU DID. I WONDERED WHO NOW I KNOW GOOD JOB I HOPE THERE IS A LITTLE MORE AROUND OUT THERE I'M STILL LOOKING ENJOYED THE PICTURES OH BY THE WAY (QUESTION) DO YOU HAPPEN TO KNOW IF THERE MIGHT BE A HEAD SET AVILABLE , SOMETHING LIKE THE T.V. EARS THEY HAVE FOR T.V. THAT WOULD WORK FOR A MINELAB? THOSE T.V. EARS WORK SO GOOD . I WEAR HEARING AIDS SO I CAN USE ALL THE HELP I CAN GET. WOULD ENJOY HEARING BACK ON THIS IF YOU HAPPEN TO KNOW WHO KNOWS I MIGHT EVEN BE ABLE TO HEAR SOME OF THOSE FAINT LITTLE SOUNDS DOWN THEIR THAT IM OBVIOUSLY MISSING. THANKS NUGGET MAN
  8. Hello Mtnhunter, I live in the Rich Hill area and might be able to help a little. There aren't any open areas, that I know of around rich hill but there are several clubs that you could join for a nominal fee and some some much higher fees but they are available to join. One is Weaver Mining District Club, see Les or Maryanne ($25 yr - located on Hwy 89 near Stanton Rd) and another one is Y-Not, see Tom ($35 yr located almost across from the LDMA camp at Stanton) - both located very close to Rich Hill. Both give a map of area showing their claims so you know where you are allowed to prospect. Weaver also has maps available for sale that show all the current claims around the Rich Hill area. Hope this helps - good luck - hope you find some gold!! Nugget man
  9. Rob, there is a manufacturing business in Gold Hill,OR that manufactures GPR equipment. I know they make a screen that you drag across the ground which detects gold hidden beneath the ground - don't know all the particulars but this may be just the thing you are looking for. Some years back it was a White's metal detector shop but am not sure of the name now. If you could make contact with them I am sure they would be more than happy to assist. Hope this helps, Nugget Man
  10. Well on the topic of TV shows about prospecting for GOLD I dont know of any other shows except the outdoor channel programs. I for one would like too see a lot more of them. I think the Buzzard did a pretty good job. I felt he was trying to share with us some of the things he learned about prospecting to aid us who wanted to learn from someone who new more than we do. Ya know Finding Gold isant easy . It takes a lot of patiences and the ability to learn from others. Some of the people that poo poo the efforts of others to teach those that dont know as much could proubly use some of this I appreciate the things I have learned by their effort. I do believe some people are getting the wrong impression by what they see on the gold shows. To me its understandable that in order to explain what to do in finding gold they have to show you what your looking for. Maybe its made to look easier than it is to some people I don't know. Nothing worth while is easy, at least it never has been for me. I hope the ones that are discouraged by the shows will watch them for what they can learn. If I were going to tell anyone about finding gold I would tell them to go out where they are finding gold and talk to as many people as you can. I do this and find people to be very helpful. I hope I never quit learning. If there finding gold by what there doing (DO WHAT THERE DOING) Ask Talk Learn I only say this because I do this myself. Im a one finger typist so this is not easy for me I hope you find Gold and a lot of nice people later, Nugget Man
  11. Well Ike.....I thought I would respond to your question about too much metal and where you can carry it. I'm new to this as well and found that I have a problem with my left hand. I'm a retired heavy equipment mechanic and found I have chips of metal in my left hand. I can't swing my hand over the coil with dirt in it checking for my target I have to use my right hand. You might want to check your hands too save yourself the frustration I had figuring out what was going on. I'm not telling you how long it took me to figure this out. Lets just say I know now. Well By for now, have fun out there. Nugget Man, Congress area AZ.
