  1. Well, I was thinking of going into the Virginia, West Virginia mountains and doing some packing into the boonies. I am just getting started in prospecting, but I am an avid camper, fisherman, hiker, and woodsman, so the idea was to make the whole thing a (lol) "Deliverance" kind of trip, without the bad stuff of course. I have been an avid fan and amateur participant in the treasure hunting culture for some years now, and there isn't much documentation on prospecting in the eastern United States. I would love to be the guy that changes that. I am friendly, and I want to put together something with more information on my back yard. Any way, I am a dreamer with aspirations. Anyone want to go mountain prospecting?
  2. Hey all, do any of you dredge in the eastern us? I am looking for info on who to contact for permits or permission to play a little. Do you have to get permit to dredge everywhere, or does the land owner's permission count? If I get a few days to do so, I'm looking to go into some areas that are very off the beaten path, and there aren't any people. Who do I contact to get ok'ed for any prospecting, dredging or high banking? By the way, anyone looking for a partner to run the woods, just let me know. I'm always ready, and I got some equipment. Just need the right pointer, and ill dig the bottom out........eshawnjohnson2000@yahoo.com
  3. Hey everyone, here is a thought.... I have this desire to get in .....over my head maybe.... My wife is giving me her 1991 Buick Le Sabre. I am going to sell or trade for equipment. Any pointers? I know i want a high banker, but i think i want to get a three or four inch dredge too. I already have a huge van and trailer for moving people and equipment. I am also in the building stages of a teardrop r.v. of my own design.(might put a gold theme to it). Anyways I am determined to get in here ,so look for me. And If you need a hard working honest mule monkey, Give me a shot.I might just drop and come running...........SERIOUSLY, I WILL DROP AND COME RUNNING..........
  4. Thanks for the words of wisdom. Fortunately, or unfortunately(depending on your point of view) I worked the deep mines of eastern Ky. for a while, so the dangers and the precautions are well known to me. Had to take extensive training for the job. I guess I am doomed to dream from afar. Just means i"ll have to travel a little.

  6. Hello all, its me from Kentucky again. Any thoughts on what to look for in a cave on the first entry? A friend of mine and I discovered an entrance to what looks to be a fairly good sized cave the other day while looking at his new land. Since we didn't have equipment, we decided to come back better prepared. Is there gold in caves? Or gems? What should I be looking for?
  7. i wanna get prospecting but the area has little information on what or where? there are caves . does gold turn up in that type of earth, or should i be looking for something else or some where else entirely? All you knowledgeable people give a fella some help?
