  1. This wasn't posted here so I thought I would put the info out: DFG News Release Moratorium on Instream Suction Dredge Mining, Effective Immediately August 6, 2009 Contact: Kirsten Macintyre, DFG Communications Manager, (916) 322-8911 All California instream suction dredge mining has been suspended following the Governor’s signature on a new state law. The ban will be in effect until the Department of Fish and Game (DFG) completes a court-ordered environmental review of its permitting program, expected in late summer 2011. SB 670 (Wiggins), signed today by Gov. Schwarzenegger, prohibits the use of vacuum or other suction dredging equipment for instream mining in any California river, stream or lake. Consistent with the moratorium, DFG has ceased issuing suction dredge permits, and all previously issued state permits are now invalid. The moratorium on instream suction dredge mining took effect immediately as an urgency measure, prohibiting the use of vacuum or other suction dredging equipment for instream mining in reliance on any permit previously issued by DFG. The moratorium does not apply to suction dredging operations performed for the regular maintenance of energy or water supply management infrastructure, flood control, or navigational purposes. A violation of the moratorium on instream suction dredge mining is a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 and six months in jail. DFG is also currently subject to a court order prohibiting the issuance of suction dredge permits. (Leeon Hillman et al. v. California Dept. of Fish and Game, Super. Ct. Alameda County, Case No. RG09-43444.) The order, which prohibits DFG from expending any General Fund money, even indirectly, to issue suction dredge permits, will remain in effect as long as the Hillman lawsuit is pending or until further order of the court. Additional information can be found at www.dfg.ca.gov/licensing/specialpermits/suctiondredge.
  2. Yes, I will go! Can you speak Chinese? You will need to by the time I finish digging!
  3. Boy, that sucks! I just watched the movie called "Sicko" by Michael Moore, you should watch it, it's an eye opener! On one part, a medic that worked 911 was paying 150.00 for medication twice a month due to a breathing illness, she only gets SSD. They went to Cuba and the same medication was like .50 cents each. My wife just got her tonsils out and that was a 10,000.00 bill and that doesn't include the Dr visit prior and after, or the MRI. Now how the hell can that cost 10,000.00?
  4. Hello Denny I thought it might have been leaveitright.
  5. Had a weak target today and when I got about a foot deep, these 3 white nuggets came out. along with a small nail. Also scored a small rat turd nugget. I sure didn't expect those! I wonder what they will turn out to be?
  6. I was just wondering why so many people are selling them after they use them compared to the gold stalkers, Au being the test ground.
  7. Just a question here. I have noticed at least 3 used NF Advantage coils on Ebay ( 2x 12" elliptical mono's and 1x 14 elliptical mono) in just the last 2 weeks plus the one that Don had for sale on this forum, compared to 1 Gold stalker on Ebay in the same two weeks. Does this tell me anything? I was holding out waiting to order an Advantage coil, but now I'm not so sure. If their not making it in the testing ground how would they work here?
  8. Anyone who uses a large coil knows the hassles of locating a small target. I was just looking over the Detector pro pistol probe and in an advertisement it stated that it will locate a 3 grain nugget. It uses pulse induction and from what I seen on a video could locate a coin 8" away. Any thought on how they would work for nugget hunting to locate the target after you dug your hole?
  9. I would like some conformation on Mono coil depth. Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I read an 18" round coil basically goes 18" deep on average nuggets and a 14" goes 14" so on and so forth. To calculate Elliptical coil depth you add the length and width, divide by 2 and you have the depth...IE: 0n a 12X18" =15" search depth. Is this at all correct?
