  1. Rob I have been testing the E-Trac you sold me and so far it has run very quiet. The deepest target so far has been junk at 10 inches. Jerry
  2. I have been using one for several months now. It has increased my recovery time and I don't have to dig such a big hole. If you are using a PI machine it will not work as well unless you shut your machine down. Both the probe and the PI will cross talk. I use a 4000 and just shut it off when I am using the probe. If you are looking for a tiney piece in a hand full of dust it will find it but you have to get rite on it but you will find it. Hope this helps. Jerry
  3. Hey Rob! I am looking for your EXPERT opeinon, but I won't hold you to it. LOL You know I like to hunt out around the hill and some days I have trouble with the old feet. (too many years jumping out of airplains and helecopters or as my doctor says Owner Abuse) and I can't climb to find the good stuff. We all know the 4000 has like Zero iron disc and the flats is where all of the junk is. I am looking for a back up to use when old Uncle Arthur Ritus won't let me walk anywhere but the flats. I have looked at the explorer and the pro. I want to work the really high trash areas that drive my 4000 crazy. Even if it isn't a nugget, maybe an old coin or something other that pieces of an old can I would like to find something left behind by the oldtimers. Boy was that a mouth full! Anyway thats what I'm looking for the best discrimnation possible. See Ya Jerry
  4. It doesn't matter how much ammo you have if I am a better shot. LOL Jerry
  5. My wife and I try to pick up the tab whenever possible for our troops. Another program we support is Packages From Home. It is pretty easy to pick up an extra bag of jerkey, kleenex packs (for cleaning weapons of sand) and many other things to boost the moral of our deployed troops. When we get a bag or box together we swing by and drop it off. Packages From Home makes up boxes and sends them to the troops. You can send a card if you like and you will be amazed at the response from a soldier you have never met. DVD,s of all kinds Baseball gloves almost anything you can imagine. Check out their web site or contact them for a list. You will probably find you have many of the needed or wanted items collecting dust in your home somewhere. The also need donations for postage. Many of us remember what it was like to share a chocolate bar from home or read a letter outloud to hear your buddies laugh at people they don't know. God Bless Our Troops Jerry
  6. Hey Rob! Not much luck on the hill but I did pull a couple of pickers out of an old washer pile in the high country. Between old Uncle Arthur Ritus and an attack of the Cats Claw it kind of slowed me down. I was using the Platypus coil you sold me. It was a good thing it is water proof cause draging it back through the blood trail to my ATV would have ruined anything else. LOL. I do have a question about using it in extra mode on the 4000. I couldn't pick up my test nugget until I went back up to sensitive. I was in a highly mineralized area with more iron stone than sand. Could that have been it? See Ya Jerry
  7. It looks like Google Earth has finally updated the Bradshaw range. I hunt alone and have been carefull and frustrated when looking for and taking trails into new areas. Now I can zoom inn and see atv trails and get a better idea of where the creek beds run out. If you havn't checked it out lately you may find it helpfull. Jerry
  8. Boy I must be deep in the craper! Not only am I a Vietnam vet but I worked for and supported Nixon. I still wear his election badge proudly. I also tried to buy some ammo today and found the shelves at of all places, Cabellas empty. They said they sold out but couldn't tell me when they sold out or how long it would be until they got more in. Being an X-Nixon paranoid, I don't think the government has the stones to tell us we can't buy ammo for our prefered shooting implements they will just make sure there is no more availability. We used to do a lot of reloading when I was a kid. I think I will start policeing up brass on the range for future back up. Just my paranoid rambling. Jerry
  9. Working smarter not harder. Now that is a guy I would like to meet. Jerry
  10. Congradulations to you both! The golden moments you will soon have are far more precious than anything ever found in the material world. Cherish every one of them cause like the comic says you can experience something sumular but never the same thing again. Best wishes Jerry and Carol
  11. WOW Rob! I showed this post to my wife and she tore up her honey do list and told me to get back out there. Hope you left some, if I come back empty handed she will start that darn list again. Thanks for the motivation! Jerry
  12. My wife started getting worried when I began checking the black sand in the public ashtrays for micro nuggets. Jerry
  13. Hey Rob what coil do you use on the opening day of the 24k pushes. I have been using the mine lab 11" DD stock coil but I really don't like it. Besides the fact that I have never found gold with that coil I am sure there is a better option. I need to know how much money I am going to have to explain to my wife when I drop a load at your booth. When is that baby due? Maybe I can tell her it is our contributition to the college fund. HA See You At The Gold Show Jerry The Junker
  14. If you are finding lead at 8 inches you are probably doing everything correctly. Rob gave a demo on a whites during one of his lectures showing just how hard it was to maintain a ground balance. I hunted the Road Runner and GPAA claims on Rich Hill with a Lobo and a Minelab but only found Junk until I joined the 24K group. I am sure there is gold on the claims you are working it is just a matter of time until you run over a nugget. I found gold in other areas with my Lobo so I know there is still gold out there to be found with a VLF. I live in Glendale also and will be going out to the hill in the next week or so. PM me the next time you go out and I will try to hook up with you. The test nugget idea is the way to go. I carry one with me so you can test your unit on mine if we can find each other. Good Luck Junker
  15. Rob told me that if I went way up the hill I could go all day without getting a signal but if I did it would probably be gold. Well after most of the day without a signal I got a faint wisper. It took some time to find this little piece of copper wire in the dust. The probe kept giving a signal and since I don't know come here from sickem about sub grain nuggets I just kept looking. I was more amazed than disapointed when I finally found the wire. I have been using the probe for a couple of weeks now and I have increased my recovery speed and don't seem to be diging as big of a hole to find my target. Great product Rob. See Ya at the gold show. Maybe by then I can afford one of the new six inch mono. Everybody I have talked to says they are HOT. Jerry the Junker
