  1. What a beaut!!! Those water worn nuggets you usually find are nice too but this one sure is interesting! Good going!!!
  2. Why in the world would she expect Minelab to refund her? She did not buy it from them or one of their dealers... I hope she learned a lesson. If it's too good to be true, then it probably is!
  3. Rob, what did Dawn do to "cure" your heat stroke? Might be good to know the correct procedure. Glad you're better!
  4. I read an article about tests that were done on the effectiveness of Tasers on bears. It said it was very effective and I would think the secondary contact use could be a great feature too. I saw a video of a LEO using his Taser against a raging Pitbull. Stopped the sucker instantly and sent him yelping as he ran off...his baton had zero effect prior to Tas'ng the pooch... Too bad the brilliant politico's in my State outlawed them here. Now the only guys that have them are the people who don't obey the laws and misuse them for bad things. Using them for defense will land you in jail...probably for longer than the perp!
  5. It's no wonder they are paying such inflated prices for md's.... It must be a sin to butcher a nugget like that. And the gold buyers are probably taking advantage of them, buying low and selling high... Watching some of the linked videos, it makes me wonder how solid they are looking at the way they are carrying it with one hand.
  6. I'm not sure what you saw but Google and Yahoo are competitors so don't think it will force you to load Yahoo...probably said that it will use Google as the default search engine. I use Google for searches most time anyway so not a problem for me. And actually, Chrome is a less memory intensive browser so if you have an old or limited memory machine, it's even better! Try it, I don't think you will regret it... If you are concerned, you might want to create a "restore point" before downloading. It's a good practice to create a restore point prior to doing anything or before installing anyway...
  7. Hey guys, I hate to beat a dead horse but...go look into Google Chrome. If you don't trust me, do a search... I think you will find good comments about Chrome and if it turns out that you don't like it, just stop using it like any other program that you don't like. All it is, is a different browser or an alternative to MS Internet Explorer. There are a few other browsers available like Firefox and Opera but so far, Chrome is the best. Recently, when I use my IE to access Rob's site, it's slow and some stuff like replying is messed up looking. Chrome is WAY faster and everything works properly. Using Internet Explorer, it's slow and messed up. It's not just Rob's site either. Several other forums don't work well anymore using IE as well as some online shopping like ebay etc. I stopped looking on ebay because it was soooo slow and got slower with each page. Chrome cured it all for me. I am finding that I am using Chrome more and more each day... Way faster and no bugs. If you don't trust me, do a search for reviews on Google Chrome and decide for yourself...you won't regret it!
  8. Hi Bob! Looks like less of the white stuff up North this year... Most of the moisture ending up in CA and AZ. About Chrome, the more I use it, the more I'm liking it...glad you are have good success. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of IE, but easier to use than Firefox. Opera not bad either but so far, I'm liking Chrome the best.
  9. I would encourage you all to look into Google Chrome browser. I like IE and use it for most of my browsing but for these picky sites or forums, Chrome is the bomb! Sure turbocharged my access to this site and others like it... AND IT'S A FREE DOWNLOAD!
  10. The last time I drove over the Hoover dam the water level was waaaayyyy down there. Do you think this sprinkle was enough make a noticeable change to the water level of the Colorado?
  11. Not sure what the issue is or the cure either, but I've been having major problems accessing this site since the change of format. Several forums that I frequent have changed to this same format and there too, I have either not been able to post or super slow loading. Also been having unbelievably slow access while on ebay too... I think it has something to do with my Javascript updates... I've been using IE for years and in an attempt to resolve the issue, I did sweeps, bot checks and scans to no avail. Tried firefox with mixed success. My next plan was Opera or Chrome and I am glad I chose Chrome because it is the cat's meow. So far...Chrome proving to be fast, efficient and I can access nuggethunting.com again!
  12. That's pretty cool... I hope this doesn't happen to you. I once was archery hunting sheep and found a herd bedded down in the middle of an open field. The grass was only a few inches high and absolutely no cover for 300 yds. I ditched my camo pack and belly crawled to the herd. Heavy fog rolled in and then pouring rain started a couple hours into the stalk. Later, I had a hard time locating my pack due to the camo. And the sheep got up and left the area when the rain started...
  13. I think I would give up cable TV before I would the internet...
  14. Forgot to add, ever since the furum change, my 'puter runs really slow here. I can hear my fan start up when I get here. Happens on ebay and Midway too. Rob, can you ask your IT guy why that is? Thanks!
