  1. Reg Having retired recently from a position as a tool maker in for a large company, I can assure you, that I have seen many problems come up that delayed production of several new products for as long as over a year. So, delays, while disappointing, can be expected. I't has been proven to me that it is a good idea to never promiss a deminstration, untill you have the product both in hand, and have proven it will work in private. Then it's time to crow. Also, it seems that some folks are letting product loyalty out weigh the desire to find a better detector. Who knows, your detector may prove better, worse, or not workat all. never know until it's field tested. As for me, I'm for a better detector no matter who makes it. Here's wishing you and your friends the best of luck. Tony
  2. I'd say you could a survice for sure. I think after 17 days, you've realy been surviced in a big way. Luck, Tony
  3. Hope your daughter and grand daughter heal up soon. had you gotten home before this happened, seems stuff like that seems to go wrong when your not around to help. best of luck to pondmn, hope it's a sprain, not a break. Tony
  4. If this post isn't welcome here, or any place on this forum, or any other, than I'm in the wrong place. I survived my war, while a lot didn't. I returned, not a hero, ( none of us felt we should be) but thanks to being from a small town, not, ( a murderer, or baby killer.) I was a son , not only of my parrents, but of America. I feel the loss of this son of America as I would that of a brother. I can only thank you for posting this, and assure you that, all vets goin in this familys loss. Tony
  5. As another new member, I was welcomed by a couple of other friendly members. Guess it's time to pass that welcome on to you. I think you will find the people here willing to help new members when ever they can. Tony
  6. Here is an address that has links to some sites that may be informative. May be old news to you, but was new to me. http://dmoz.org/Science/Technology/Mining/.../United_States/ Happy hunting and Happy NEW year to all. Tony
  7. Made my morning. I needed a good laugh, it's snowing in Silver City, not my favorite thing.
  8. O"29er, Thanks for the welcome. There are a few things I remember by having done them, like turning a star drill for him to blast rocks out of a field, but not much to do with prospecting. The one thing he left me with was the desire to learn, and give it a try. Tony
  9. Reading your post convinced me to regester, so i wouldn't be classed as a guest anymore, even though i doubt that i have ever been on after midnight. I have been on searching for knowledge, but, not trying to pick anyones pocket. My father was a prospector in northern Ca from the end of the 1st world war untill the mid 40s, and though i was told a lot of the things that happened to him durring that time, by the tine i had reached the age when i was interested in learning all the real prospecting advice he could have given me, he had passed away. So, guesting untill i was able to contribute was my only recourse. I've moved to the Silver City,NM area, and though no longer a kid, hope to give it a try before to long. So in the mean time, i hope to gain more knowledge, both about the area I'm in, and the "nuts and bolts" of prospecting in general. Luck to all, Tony
