  1. Congratulations Rob & Dawn! She's a beautiful little girl. Take care, Steve & Kitty
  2. Congrats Rob and Dawn! In the words of Mr Spock... "Live long and prosper!" Take care, Steve and Kitty
  3. Hello Jerry. All I had to do was tape the inside of the coil, but I was in too much of a hurry to get out and use it. Not a big deal at all, and the tape wont wear out on the inside like it does on the outside. Thanks for the advice though. Hello Rob, Wont be going out this weekend. Gotta get ready for my vacation starting next friday. Next time I use the platypus, it'll be on the pushes! 8 days & 7 fresh pushes to play on! No doubt it's gonna find me some gold. See you all on the pushes Take care Steve & Kitty
  4. Hello Everyone, There's a couple things I noticed with this coil. I put in a easy 6 hours hunting with this coil at Rich Hill last saturday. On a couple of old pushes. No gold. I found small dozer shavings at around 4 inches deep. shape may have something to do with that, cause they wont weigh on my grain scale. That I have not experienced with my Joey or my e-mono 14" nuggetfinder. Plus, I put my coil over same types of dozer shavings at maybe 1" and it about blasted my ears out. When i went to dig them I was expecting a lot bigger piece of metal or gold. I think this is a great coil. As far as the crack goes, probably around 1/32nds of a inch. As far as I'm concerned, any open spoke coil should be taped on the inside as well as the outside. Some grains of sand got between the coil and the coil cover. But the way I abuse my coils, I'm not surprised! I've had my Joey coil for less than a year, and I've worn holes thru both the bottom and the top, not just the cover, on the Rich Hill granite. I have to patch it almost every time i play in the boulders at Rich Hill. Platypus mono = great coil for it's size. Thats my 2 cents worth. Take care, Steve
  5. Hello Bob, You don't follow Rob, you go in the opposite direction and hope for the best! Hello Slim, You got the nugget to beat this year up on the Hill. Hello Karl, Thanks for complaining to the rain god, it's working. Looking forward to seeing all of you on the Hill this fall. Met a lot of good people up there and had a lot of fun. Hello Rob, Yeah it sucks working saturdays, at least you're not salaried. With all of Karls' rain, hopefully I can cross that creek! Take care all, Steve
  6. Hey Rob, Both of the nuggets were about the same size as the smaller one I found saturday. Glad you passed it by, it's hard to find a place you haven't pounded yet! Next time we meet up I'll have to get a scale from you. Hello Uncle Ron, Yeah we were without a truck for a couple months. The gold fever was killin' me! Kitty might have to wait for the Minelab 5000 to come out, then I'll give her my 3500. Look forward to seeing you up on the Hill again too. Take care, Steve & Kitty
  7. Hello Everyone, Hey Rob, it was great hunting with you saturday. It's too bad Dennis wasn't there. Went back sunday where I found the 2 the weekend before, I found a couple more up higher. Was only there for a few hours, home by 11:00! Too friggin' humid! Will go back this saturday and try again. Look forward to hunting with you again some day. Hey Wonderer, It was good seeing you again up on the Hill. Thanks for the comp Bandana Don. Take care all. Steve
  8. Hello Rob, She has our best wishes. Hope she gets better. Take care, Steve and Kitty
  9. Hey Mike, It was a pleasure to meet and hunt with you. Look forward to seeing you again in October. No bugs then I hope! Take care, Steve
  10. Hello Rob and fellow nugget hunters! After you and Dennis left Sunday, I found 1 up where you and Dennis found those last nuggets on push 5. Monday I found 4 more, by where you found those last 3. Tuesday me and Kitty spent 1/2 the day on the Keene outing pushes and got skunked. The other 1/2 of the day went back to push 5. Me and Kitty each found 1. Then I went to push 4 and found 2 nuggets in 1 red clay clod. Wednesday we spent all day on the Keene outing push 1. Got skunked again. Dave the caretaker at Stanton found 3. 1 guy named Dion found 1 on the road leading to the push. Thats all I heard that was found on those pushes. Thursday I found 1 on push 2. Then friday I found 1 more on push 2. All in all, it was a great vacation. Take care.... Steve
  11. Hey Uncle Ron, how you doing. Haven't seen you up on the hill in awhile. My digital camera was the company camera. Don't have it right now, too cheap to buy my own. Need the money for prospecting. Hey Terry, Will be up at Rich Hill friday, saturday, and sunday morning. I'll be on the pushes friday, and in the mountains saturday. If you're not there friday, I'll leave it with Larry, the caretaker. I tried yours on and liked it, so I bought me a pair from Rob sunday. See you guys on the hill. Steve
  12. Hey Terry, Steve here. I found your lost chap above push 3 last saturday. It brought me good luck, I found a nugget about 15 minutes after that. PM me and we'll figure out a way to get it back to you. Steve
