NVJesse
How can you tell its a fake?Look at the pictures in the link. The front panel is totally jacked up. The 4500 has toggle switches on the front, not dials. Also the 15" SE coil never came with that kind of a sticker.Jesse

DOC
Yes that's a fake. Smart point on a real GPX4500 is by the coil plug, and like someone else pointed out the GPX4500 has switches, not knobs. Not only is it a fake, it's a bad fake. Here's what a real GPX4500 looks like:Here's the fake:Doc
Jeff Pike
Excellent photo, Doc. Here's the display side from the eBay listing - I don't remember ever seeing this typeset used on a 4500. Minelab always has that sci-fi space age looking typeset, with an open 4 and a flat-topped G. Never heard of a "European Model" before either... Something seems a little off with the battery too. DOC
Well the battery on a GPX4500 has the headphone symbol and the speaker symbol by the female headphone jack because the GPX4500 battery has a built in amplifier.DocExcellent photo, Doc. AZNuggetBob
I'd like to see the inside. I've heard they have VLF boards in them. AzNuggetBob
