Admin nuggethunting Posted October 18, 2010 Admin Report Share Posted October 18, 2010 Hello All, Here is the second part to the "Metal Detecting with a Minelab GPX5000." In the Youtube video below you will see what was recovered from the bank. Just what we were hoping for! Gold nugget was 1.75 ounces, just shy of what we both predicted. For more information about Metal Detecting with a Minelab detector or the new Minelab GPX5000, give us a call anytime. DOC
Tell Dennis, that was a great find. I hope he is enjoying his Gold Screamer Power Pack. Looks like he expended a lot of energy digging that bugger out of there. Great Find, fantastic videos Rob, thanks!Doc

highbanker58
Rob / Dennis That was a great find. How about a picture of it cleaned up so we can see the quartz you were talking about. Dave
enigmatic
Hey H20 prospector....I can remember the last time I drop a dollar at a Casino! Other than the buffets, that's it! I already have the money, just need to find a way to get the machine to me. The company has me flying here and there, I don't think the new GPX5000 will still be at the front door by itself for days on end waiting for me...rather not take the chance!....Garimpo thanks for the complement on my service...Sincerely; Guido

Guido - Great talking with you yesterday. When you're ready I have your unit sitting here. Take care,Rob Allison

AZNuggetBob
I agree, Rob sprinkle some water on that nugget and give us a clue what it really looks like, possibly a chicken wing nugget source? maybe I'll get up there soon and see it first hand. Talk to you soon. AzNuggetBob
Admin nuggethunting Posted October 19, 2010 Author Admin Report Share Posted October 19, 2010 Hello AZNuggetBob, My first thought when we found that nugget was the "Chicken Wing." It has some type of Blackish quartz, just like you talked about. This spot was within tossing distance of the "Chicken Wing" find. Talk with you later,Rob Allison
AZNuggetBob
Hey Rob I'll bet that nugget is going to be a beauty when you get some of that clay off of it., That is some tough ground in that area (hot rocks) and that concrete hard pack is no fun to dig in either. It seems that the new expanded features of the 5000 are going to open up some old patches again. That patch has been hit by some of the best, just goes to show their never hunted out, just a little deeper. every inch of depth can make the difference. Admin nuggethunting Posted October 20, 2010 Author Admin Report Share Posted October 20, 2010 Hello AZNuggetBob, Ya, I think the nugget will turn out nice once it's clean. The ground is very mineralized, but the GPX5000's seem to balance it out pretty good. Haven't found any hot rocks with the "fine gold" timing, but a friend with his GPX4500 is finding some of the ones that look more Granite looking from time to time. Will give you a call one of these days. Been very busy with the business, work/school and now some sickness in the family (daughter and father).
