COLORADO BOB
dutch john,Got a letter from Carolyn & she said the first hunt is on Fri. 10/23/09 at 3:00 PM. There will be six hunts through out Sun..Believe she said that the super package [all six hunts] was $175.00 for member's.Of course you can pick and choose the hunts that you would like to be in. The sooner you sign up & pay, the cheaper it is.There is a bit more but thats it in a nut shell.Hope to see you there. Maybe we can kick John B's butt. Maybe we should take a hacksaw and cut that big "ol" long coil of his in half.Bob T.

dutch john
Colorado Bob... The hunt is not very well advertised this yearIf you or someone reading this thead could add more detailabout the how and whens it could be most helpful...As it seems to stand right now it is not advertised in the "trademagazines." Also, it seems that at this date some of theother organizations will also be putting on their advertisedevents about this time... Actually... as an example ValleyProspectors will be putting on their Rendevous on the sameweekend... their seeded hunt will even be on the sameSunday as AMDA main event.... And Valleys hunt was pretty goodlast year. If anyone has a scanner or can post the information... I can't... it would be great...
AZBirddog
Dutch JohnHere is all I could find on the Rendezvous...... AZLAUGHLIN 2009!AMDA’s Annual Rendezvous & Treasure Hunt Weekend for 2009 is tentatively scheduled for October 23, 24, and 25, 2009, in Laughlin, Nevada, subject to approval by the Clark County Chamber of Commerce. The hunt site again is located at the corner of Woodbury and Thomas Edison Drives, in Laughlin, approximately ½ miles West of Casino Drive. Watch this webpage for the hunt flyer that you will be able to download and more details as we approach hunt time. The Colorado River Treasure Seekers (CRTS) based out of Bullhead City, Arizona, have graciously volunteered again to support our hunts by preparing the field and planting the coins.AMDA’s staff will seek out local hobbyists for field support to limit travel expenses when needed. Our thanks go to those hobbyists who do support our events. AMDA is a service and non-profit organization that operates for the enjoyment of the hobby in metal detecting across the country. We hope you and your friends will continue to support us. Please contact us, if you have further questions.WORD TO THE WISE: Because of the current instability of our US economy, we suggest you take out trip cancellation insurance, in the event AMDA has to change, alter, or cancel an activity.Thank you,Carolyn Garrett, AMDA’s ChairpersonCgarrett71@hughes.net; phone: (719) 749-01342009 LAUGHLIN RENDEZVOUS Flyer - Download HereCopyright © 2002 All Rights ReservedAmerican Metal Detecting Association

dutch john
AZBirddog... Great posts... Can you or somebody post the name, time, and cost of each hunt for anyone needing more information... It would take a lot of time forme to two-finger type the information and likely make mistakes...Six hunts are listed. One at 3pm on Friday. Four on Saturday and one on Sunday. For the lowest rate the money must be paid by 9/25/09... Also it is less if the $10annual membership fee is sent in with the hunt fees. dutch john
Well... I have sent my money in. Entered a hunt on Saturday to "test the field."Also the "big event" on Sunday morning... Likely I will come alone. My wife Gloria is the "sitter" for two of our great-grandkids.It would be rush-rush if she came... I have been entering "pay/fee" events since 1974. Back then they were well attended.Hundreds lined up to go at the start of a hunt... Hope to see "you'al" there.
COLORADO BOB
Dutch,Already sent my money. Think I'm going to attemp all six hunts. By Sun. I may wish that I had not done that.Another thing to think about is the Day-light Savings time. It was mentioned in their letter.I think that it may change on Sat. night, if so that will effect the start time on Sun. morning. So beware, all you guys who will do the town on Sat. night. Bob T. dutch john
Well... You are really into it. But by buying the package you can pickand choose to miss an event as still beat the individual costs of the totalsignups... The two "challenge" hunts on Saturday may push you a bit. The teamchallenge one could be a real challenge, so you need to be at your best forthis one as your "randomly selected" team partner may be real agressiveand out to win... Other than that you can set your pace...Depending upon the planted target density... which may be "scattered," possibly(then) a "bigfoot" type of coil will give an edge... However, this may depend uponthe individual hunts. Crosstalk could be a problem in a "high" target densityplanted field...I'm slow and have a balance problem over uneven ground... I go to meet old friends... but over the past few years our ranks have thinned. Many of the "addicts" were in the central and eastern states and attend other events. It seems that fewer of my local club members will be going. If anyone reading this thread wishes to attend. Cory Dupay is the web-master(punch in <cdupee2002@gmail.com>) and Bernards cell phone (916) 949 1787If anyone reading this thread will be there... Keep in mind I'm hearing challenged
