OK, DOC! What happened to the Gold Nugget pin Contest? You know the one where we guess where you went on you honeymoon!

Grubbie didn't win. No one has won yet. His answer was posted on a different thread and I had moved it over to the contest thread.

Who in the hell goes to Norfolk Virginia for a honeymoon? I have never been in Virginia in my life.

So no Grubbie is out of the running.

DOC, I've been all over, I delivered the BULL Wheel for the upper ski lift at Killington Vermont, from Carson City NV. where it was made, oversized load, it was 15ft in dia. and I had to be there in 6 days, to meet a chopper that was taking it to the top of the mountain. Hawk missils out of RED River Army Depot into White Sands . You would be surprised at what I hauled, and where. Grubstake

Well Gary... I stand pat... I will not yield. The Statue of Liberty you do not deny hauling from France

is a much longer haulage trip in miles and also weight. I think I finally after all of the years we exchanged

"I GOTCA'S I finally did GOTCA... Old age and cunning against your Youth and awkwardness! :P :P :P :P :P

Hey Grubby

Spent the better part of 10 years running OTR, and most of that was with a

a 45x96 skateboard or 53' step-deck behind me. Pulled a few loads of military

hardware and vehicles, but thanks to a strong survival instinct I never accepted

any loads that could possibly go "Boom!".

Hung it up in 2000. Miss the open road a bit now and then, but I just remind

myself what glare ice looks like, or having to put up with lot lizards every time

ya try to get a good nights sleep at a truck stop.

I'm 4F now, but gotta admit it'd be fun to get back out there for a run and

wear out a few gears. Do they still put real trannys into trucks, or have

they call gone to automatics? 'Bout hurt myself laughing the first time

I saw one of those automatics, but everyone swears they're the cats meow.

Just don't see the fun in it.. :glare:

I don't knowmike, about the trannies. I quit driving longhaul in 95. Mine was a 400 Cat with a 15 speed tranny. Big KW long wheel base, pulled everything, from 40footers to the 53 footers, Mostly heavy haul stuff, and yes I did haul stuff that went BOOM! C&H transport out of Dallas TX, and then For Arrow, Lucky I got ff the road before they screwed there drivers when they shut down. Grubstake
