My Garrett ATX is getting a little stout for my old body. She can find gold though, it's not bad with the minelab swingee thing on it. I guess about the time I spend my money on another it will show it's face. Oh well I don't plan on going anywhere soon. I haven't personally used one due to my limited amount of time and working with other detectors such as the XP. My guess is the Macro Gold Racer will be released in the next few months, but I will contact then to find out more details and post what I can here. Normally, the moment I hear something, I use Facebook and my Forums as a way to get the information to the public. That being said, feel free to contact me by phone, email or PM here on the forums to keep up to date. The ATX is a great mid-line PI detector, but like you stated very heavy. The trouble is this year will be gone before we know it. If and when this heat goes away people will be nugget hunting more so than now. I'm like a kid in a candy store when a new detector comes out. He ran a test just on the Makro Racer with the gold and he has another video with the Makro Racer and the Nokta fors gold. On both was a air test and most will tell you that don't carry much weight. Steve H. said good things come to who wait. I too have been waiting and waiting. I do hope to hear something soon and sooner would be even better.
