That thing has got more going for it than lots of detectors . The best is you don't have to worry about getting it wet. Fisher has three new detector coming out that they call weatherproof. You see this guy walking off with one over his shoulder in the rain. Not a bad thing if they can keep the weight down.

Hey Chuck,

There are a lot of pinpointers on the market now. They are all great, but this new Garrett is crazy sensitive to small gold. I haven't compared it to the Makro as of yet, but heard the standard Garrett Pro-Pointer was more sensitive to small gold nuggets, but wasn't waterproof. The new Garrett is waterproof and still has the same, if not better sensitivity.

It hasn't been that long ago you had to remember to carry that plastic bag in the field with you. Now it's so many new products come out waterproof and now weatherproof. I'd say if you be a nugget hunter then weatherproof will be good enough on where most of us hunt. Could it be that the plastic bag has become obsolete? Oh well it's a great thing for the coin and nugget hunter. I think we'll see more detector companies falling in line with the leaders of the waterproof and now weatherproof detectors.

We trash and treasure hunters have got it going our way.
