Replacement GPZ/CTX Rechargeable Batteries

Hello All,

Just got off the phone with Minelab Americas and accessories for the new GPZ 7000 won't be available until June. :angry2: Many have talked about extra batteries, as they would like to takes trips and have a spare. Right now I got confirmation that the Minelab CTX 3030 Rechargeable Battery, part number 3011-0118 for $149.00 will work and will be a item for the GPZ when they are in stock.

I snagged up all the last of these batteries, so if you need one, give us a call. :P I believe I have 10-12 in stock total, going to keep a few for myself. This battery will last roughly 4 hours and is smaller and lighter.

$155.00 and I will ship them US Priority Mail to your front door.

Just a FYI.

CTX batteries work just fine and four hours is about right. As long as you charge the main battery every night you really do not need a spare as it gets you through a long day. But I have had my CTX battery along just in case.

The CTX has a backup AA pack for it that holds 8 AA batteries. I will stuff 8 NiMH AA rechargeables in mine next time out and see how far it gets me. Could be a cheap alternative for people like me with piles of AA batteries. Might only get a couple hours though if that.

Hey Steve,

Great advice and thanks for sharing the info. Customers have been asking, but have been hesitant to tell them they could use them without consulting with Minelab. Minelab has said it will actually be a part number for the GPZ. For now, it's a good way to have a backup battery for your new GPZ 7000. I might try one this weekend to see if there is any weight reduction and to see how long I can get out of one.

I agree, if you charge the stock battery, you will get all day. I hunted for at least 8 hours last weekend, really pushing it and it showed about 1/4 left on the battery symbol.

I've got three batteries total for the CTX... two rechargeable and one with the AA's but no GPZ 7000 :( Honestly I have never needed an extra battery for the CTX as the batteries go longer then my arm can go. So now I've got more batteries then I can use. The GPZ with the smaller battery and smaller coil would be a great add on.

Good one. Rob, any mention of coils coming? Id actually like to see a small 8". Went to a spot the other day that I had got good gold from, but a rubbishy spot, I was picking up rubbish signals from well away from the 14". So much so that I went elsewhere.
