Question about the B&Z booster. How does it connect to the SDC 2300? Do I have to buy the sdc adapter separate? Or is there a cable included that will connect the booster to the SDC 2300?

Thanks

J.R.

I'm all about ampliphied sound, it's one reason I never upgraded my old GPX 4000. To me it was a major upgrade for that unit. Now I'm, more than interested to give the B&Z Booster a shot. We have 10, 2300's in our group. We all vary in ages and stages of bad hearing (according to our Wives) and we all wear headphones, so we don't have to hear the same prospecting jokes from each other during the week, lol. Looking forward to having this upgrade welded to our 2300's. Thanks again, Rob for the kind offer for the test run and I will be waiting for the Mailman.

The B&Z boosters primary function is to amplify a detectors audio for speaker use. If using headphones be aware the boosters volume needs to be above 1 1/2 to 2 to get rid of background hiss, this might then make the audio sound too loud, so in the case of the GPX 5000 you need to back off the Target Volume control to compensate for it.

For the SDC I find using 4 to be the best maximum setting for speaker use, for headphones it would pay to find a set of headphones that have an inline volume control to help regulate overall volume levels. I think Steve Herschbach has been doing something similar with his SDC using the B&Z using a set of headphones that has volume controls on each ear, so maybe he can chime in here on his experiences. (BTW Steve and Chris, I've made the boosters I promised you guys about 5 times now and each and every time they've been swallowed up by urgent orders, I promise they will be in the mail before next Xmas. ) .

Fred, when I get time I'll take some pictures of my B&Z set up for SDC and GPX use. :)

I just watched the video of Jonathan Porter's son, Timothy on Minelabs Treasure talk...he is using the Sdc with dual speakers and enhancer. The images clarify the setup.

What a wonderful memory moment they will have to share over and over down through the years...

First time to post and first time customer of Rob's Detector Sales, but long time forum reader. Have been nugget hunting for many years. I have a GPX 5000 and recently got a SDC 2300. I am very, very hard of hearing and have to use hearing aids. I use an external speaker on my GPX and it works great no problem hearing the faint target signals.

But hearing them with the SDC speaker does not happen. Using headphones with hearing aids does not work, too much feedback. So I cut out of a foam pad two doughnuts and taped them to the headphone ear muffs to get more space between hearing aid and the ear muff to stop feedback it worked good enough to detect, but I knew I was missing some of the faint soft signals. I said self, you have got to do something different. Knowing I would have to have an adapter to get from the SDC headphone jack to a regular one and I wanted the B&Z booster to go with my external speaker. What to do, what to do! Dealers I checked, only did not have them, but did not really know what I was talking about.

But than I remembered from reading the forum that Rob was usually first in getting the after market toys for our detectors we all have to have. So I called Rob and in a minutes he had me fixed up with what I needed. He shipped the next morning, two days later I was off and running. A happy camper again. I even think I am sleeping better at night.

Thank You Much Rob! Will watch for when the SDC covers come in and will order one. Bill C. from Quartzsite AZ.
