rc62burke Posted December 21, 2014 Report Share Posted December 21, 2014 Hi AllI thought I would show you a few upgrades I have made to my SDC to address a couple of the issue's I see with this design.Firstly, when I first had a swing with an SDC a few months back, I hated the way it felt on my arm due to the cuff not being solid & moving when I swung from side to side, so here is my Mod, the standard cuff has been removed & i have made up an Aluminium one that bolts on, it does limit the fold- up a little but is still very functional & solid as a "Rock" on my arm.The other issue that I needed to address before I took it out in the field was to protect the "Coil Knuckle" from wear, so I made up a protective sleeve out of PVC that sort of clips into position & requires nothing else to hold it in position.cheersLee Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The coil connector point, I was pulling my hair out when I tried one with the swings coming to an abrupt halt mid swing. I tried it out in a scrub area with real low brush, pulled the pin after the squillion'th time it happened. I don't seem to have the patience I did years back, but im probably just becoming a grumpy old man though. I can understand the why's of cover you've made for that issue though, I reckon it'd stop that. I saw in your other post about EMI, I got a fair bit of that too and couldn't stop it, in several different places in central Vic. Was surprised, thought they might have ironed that issue out.
