Breast cancer healing help

Recommended Posts

Yo All... I know that this site is about gold but Dodacious & I have been involved helping a woman who has developed a really important aid to helping women recover from breast cancer ... We have created an Indiegogo Campaign for her. Breast cancer does not discriminate between non-miners wives, sweethearts and moms and those of ours ... I'm hoping you will view the site and consider a supporting donation to her ... Dodie and I wrote, directed and edited the videos (3) that are on the page ... Even if you can't donate, please help us spread the word about this very important cause... Thanks, Cheers, Unc

Dodacious and I put this Indiegogo campaign together for a very determined and talented woman and we really need some feedback ... Breast cancer surgery is a painful thing to recover from and her invention greatly eases the suffering and enhances the healing process... We sure would like some folks to visit, watch the videos and give us reaction to it ... Ask your wives to look at it too! Thanks ... Cheers, Unc

Breast cancer surgery is a painful thing to recover from and her invention greatly eases the suffering and enhances the healing process...

My S.O. went through a double mastectomy over a year ago. When we first heard the "C" word, within a minute we both immediately made the decision they had to come off. There were no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Within a week she had her surgery and then began her chemo treatments. So far things are clear. She's had plastic surgery from one of the best in AZ, so things are looking good in that department. All is good.

The last thing I want to do is offend you, but personally I get pretty damn sick and tired of people and organizations who are constantly trying to capitalize on cancer. Everywhere you turn there are products, commercials, rallies, walks, marathons you name it… all for the big "C"... and you can damn well bet that very little of that money raised is actually making it's way to those that really need it and deserve it. After doing tons of research on these so called "non profits", I found out that for the most part it's all one big con job! The Susan G. Komen foundation being the biggest con of them all. What a BS organization!

So pardon me if I don't play the cancer game… already BTDT… the S.O. feels the same way. We're done!

I wish you luck in your endeavor.

AZBB ... I understand where you are coming from on this, but apparently you didn't get the point ... The woman who invented this comfort support garment underwent 2 surgeries and suffered horribly because there was nothing of its type to help her recover ... She helped nurse both her own mother and her husbands mother through double mastectomies and there was nothing available to help them with their pain ... Those three events, plus association with other women who had undergone the surgery and recovery are what motivated her to create a solution ... She is sincere, not some charlatan trying to capitalize on the misfortunes of others ... I have talked with the surgery survivors who bless her for what she has created because it saved them from horrible pain and discomfort ... As far as those organizations you speak of, I don't know anything except she told me there were lots of politics involved with some of the more known names, including what you referred to, and that they do not seem really committed to what they claim ... So, I'm sorry your S.O. went through that terrible experience and I am very happy that she's coming out the other side in health and with your great support ... Finally, I can only conclude you did not visit the site nor view the videos nor read and understand what this effort is all about ...It is about help and support, not about "cashing in" with some phoney claims ... Perhaps you should revisit after you have digested what it is truly about ... Or not, whatever suits you ... Cheers, Unc

Sorry Ron, I was just venting. I just get so damn sick and tired of of all this cancer BS and everybody trying to latch on to it as if it was the latest and greatest thing since sliced pizza. Many people need to pull up their big boy or big girl pants and just deal with it. We're not into the touchy feely cry myself to sleep each night BS that so many people make this crap out to be. We dealt with it and are moving on with our lives. Even my S.O. being bald for a few months was no big deal. We both shaved our heads long before there was even a hint of her losing her hair and it was never an issue. All her friends offered her wigs and whatnot and I told her you don't need any of that crap. Bald is beautiful... even on a woman! This last summer she even wanted to shave her head again. I told her just get a short hair cut and you'll be fine. I'll be the bald one in the family.

Yes I watched the video. I hope Janice does well. However, I guess I just don't get it. When the S.O. had her surgery, all her doctors said for her not to wear any type of a bra and just let everything "air out" to speed the healing process. She had expanders put in the same time of her mastectomy and just wore a soft wrap for a couple weeks with her drainage tubes. It wasn't but a month or two she was all healed up and ready for her weekly injections to expand the muscle tissue for her permanent implants. Only after a few injections did she finally start wearing a bra to help keep everthing compact. We never had a problem finding a comfortable bra and went with the sports bras. After a few months of expanding, she went in for a quick surgery to put in the permanent implants and everything has been fine since then. She still likes wearing the sports bras when she feels like wearing one. Most of the time she don't even wear one as the implants are sturdy enough for her to go au'natural. Going to go in soon for the final touches after we hear if she is finally all clear for sure.

LIke I said.. I wish Janice (and yourself) good luck in your endeavors.

Uncle Ron... What a great thing Dodacious and you are doing....

Cancer is terrible... Pain and suffering. My 'bride' Gloria was a 'cancer survivor' for many years; first

breast cancer... single mastectomy... and then ovarian cancer... Which after 3 long years of both

chemo and radiation was fatal (and losing hair or some other side effect) was just a bump in the road.

It's aweful what both chemo and radiation can do in slowly destroying the TOTAL appearance and

dignity of a once beautiful vibrant person... Full speed ahead Dodacious and Uncle Ron!... jim straight
