oldies1955 Posted August 22, 2014 Report Share Posted August 22, 2014 Hey all: Welp, Dad and I took advantage of the cooler weather and went out to hit some washes today. Man, the desert was really ripped up from the monsoons! Some of the washes still had water in them. I went up a small trib out of the main wash and was able to snag two nugs about 2 feet from each other. These were in the bank, not on bedrock. Got dad up where I was finding them hoping to get him over some...but alas...that was all there was. Hunted the sides and the rest of the wash...nutten. After that I went overland to another wash and worked my way back to the truck. Dad headed straight back to the truck. I found the worlds worse wash for detecting! So hot I could not go 6 inches without a signal and choked with trees and brush. After about an hour of that I was toast...at 11:30 it was getting warm so I hicked back to the truck. We explored some more washes with the truck and headed home. I did find a dead python in one of the washes. It was about 6 inches long that looked like it got smashed in the flooding. Had a hawk watching me.....I think he smelled that I was dead or something It was a great day out and the good Lord blessed us with some gold Got my fix for a few weeks! Tom H.
