Hey Guys,

This video has been floating around for awhile, but my guess is its from the Sudan Gold Rush 4-5 years ago. I guess we only wish we had this problem on "How to Split up a Gold Nugget!" :o

Just goes to show there are some huge gold nuggets still out there to be found. I'm sure nuggets like this were found commonly back in the early 1850's in the Motherlode State of California.

Yeah from the Sudan. Saw a few similar fall to the same fate on other videos. Apparently all the world records for detected nuggets have been well and truly smashed in the Sudan and surrounds. But due to how corrupt and crazy it is over there many don't get past the smelting process or chopping block, no respect for nuggets as such as we have. Some seriously bad dudes are heavily involved with things over there too, buying and selling. Dangerous place to swing.

This is a real deal, My heart sank the first time I watched this. all I can say is make sure there are no doubts about how you and your partner are going to split the finds.

Gruby I have to say even if they sold it, somehow I think they may split the cash in half, literally. :D AznuggetBob

Hey Guys,

I have several friends metal detecting in Mali, Africa right now. They said it's hostile in the villages, so they stay out in the bush as much as possible. They have made decent finds, but have heard of stories of huge nuggets like this being found. The problem is keeping the large nuggets on you. They said most would rather cut them up and hide them on theirselves or in places that wouldn't be easily found. Trying to hide a gold nugget as big as a dinner plate would be difficult and easily found if they got radded or jumped by bandits.

Some people using the Minelab PI's have become rich, majority of them, broke! Only a small percentage of the people metal detecting are making the good finds. He said every so ofter you will hear about a very lucky find by a novice or unexperienced group of prospectors working together. For the most part, maybe villages and groups went in and purchased these detectors, having as many as 20-30 guys working 2-3 detectors to support and fund the villages.

I personally have pictures that would blow your mind, but can't show them.
