Doc's Gold Screamer® Brand Coil Cover Tape

Recommended Posts

As you know I used to carry either White or Black Coil Cover Tape to hold your coil covers on to your Coiltek or Nugget Finder coils.

This old tape had a pretty generous amount of tape on it. It also had some unique properties, that I have just not been able to find anywhere else. A roll of this tape cost $11 plus shipping.

Undaunted by my fruitless search for something similar, I finally decided to contract with a tape company to manufacture my own coil cover tape to my specifications. I had them make it more durable, and really give you a lot of tape for your money.

The picture sort of makes it look metallic, IT IS NOT. It's just a matte neutral color. There is nothing in the tape that will interfere with your detector.

Just so you have some idea, a 14 inch round coil takes about 4 feet of tape to secure the coil cover.

My Gold Screamer® brand coil cover tape has enough tape to do over 42 - 14 inch coils!! You will probably need 1 roll for the rest of your life.

A roll of my tape is $12 plus shipping.

My fist shipment is due in about 2 weeks. You can order from Rob. The picture shows my Gold Screamer® brand coil cover tape, and the other black and white coil cover tape I used to carry.

BCOT!

Hey Doc,

I have added the picture, but it's small. Can you send the full sized picture and I will attach. You might need to clear some of your attachments out to add new pictures. You're only allowed so much space so members don't spam the forums with huge pictures.

Is the tape available now for sale?

Roo I have spent much time over the years cleaning off the tattered tape /glue residue with alcohol / etc. on a rag rubbin my fingers off to get a clean surface to reapply to.
I ended up going to a special grade electrical tape that does the job and removes easily.
I will give this new item a try in the near future.

I love that rubber electrical tape that sticks to itself,,,,, use it for everything..... like taping the coil wire to the shaft,,,,,has no glue.

I agree Roo silicone sealant works well. but if you decide to change your coil cover its tough to get it off, almost like glue. tape on the other hand makes it easy to change the cover. Bottom line you dont want black sand accumulating under your coil cover and all the crazy false signals as you swing. your going to have to decide what will work best for you.
