That's an awesome looking nugget Bob. It amazes me how gold can form that way. A friend of mine who has moved away found a bit 2 oz near where I got mine and his looked incredible.

Left mine for dead. Thought I had a pic of it but must have erased it. His had cube shapes on it.

For that bit of yours, how much above gold price is the typical for something like that?

Hey Roo

This is a type of hopper crystal gold.

We sometimes call it chevron gold. similar to dendritic gold.

It really just comes down to getting all the right elements together in the ground were they are formed at the same time. I saw one a guy found up there that was about 4 ounces.

Value? depends on what a collector wants to spend, could be up to 4x spot. for a nice specimen.

The sides remind me of a window blind (chevron)

If you look close at photo #1 you can see dendritic gold trying to form.
Crystals are a basic building block, an amazing way for nature to turn a liquid into a solid, solution into a gold nugget. AzNuggetBob
