Teddy wanted to hire a famous sculptor to design our penny, nickel, dime, quarter, and half dollar, all in one fell swoop.But Charles Edward Barber, the Chief Engraver of the United States, had the call, and he designed all of those coins (except the penny) himself.A lot of people thought he did a pretty poor job of it.
