  1. Lets here it for GPPA/LDMA organization...I am a member of LDMA (Lost Duchmans Mining Association) I received a letter recently that stated, even though I am current on all my payments, I will only receive my membership card for 2014 when I send in a copy of a government issued ID with photo. The organization claims, that they need this information to verify that the person coming onto the claims and the mining camps is the member. Now those of us who use GPPA/LDMA properties to prospect on, know that internet access is sparse if non-existent out in the field...even at the LDMA camps. Therefore what good is it to have my ID with photo back in the Home office in California? It doesn't make any sense and we have not really received any valid logical reasons as to why we have to provide sensitive information that could and can be used in identity theft. I doubt that GPAA/LDMA has the IT resources or the technical staff to protect their data files from hacker piracy! Hell ADOBE couldn't prevent a record theft that recently took place where millions of customer records were stolen including the passwords to the database and credit card information. I got an email from ADOBE advising me that I needed to change my pass codes. Even though that would not protect me from the potential of ID theft that had already occurred. So I got to hand it to you GPAA/LDMA...your popularity is falling like the popularity of Congress and the White House and OBAMACARE!
  2. HI Rob! How are you and how is your State Land claim? Are you working it or is it too hot over there! We have had over a week of 100+ temps this week and more on the way. Rain is so scarce that everything is brown. Say hello to Dennis for me and to Dawn as well.

  3. Hi Rob, I am heading out tomorrow around 5 Houston time. I will get into Rich Hill either late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. Depending on how many stops I make on the way. See you soon. Karl
  4. Thanks JP and Grubstake, I had the impression that both channels were coming out of two wires making it really a mono connection. Thanks Karl
  5. Is the sound output on the GP series detector stero out or mono out? I wanted to do some signal processing post detector, but the input of my processor is mono.
  6. Very interesting set of posts and very informative. AMD great material. JP and Doc also great background on Minelab and Mr. Candy. Knew some of Bruce's background, but did not the info on the Halco amps. Happy belated Thanksgiving. Hope everyone is out finding lots of yellow stuff! Regards Karl
  7. Yea and they get to screw with your minds, health, wealth and the country! And the really stupidty is that people vote for them wanting this shit to happen! go figure rgds Karl
  8. Hey Bob! Those are some nice little friends you picked up! Glad to hear that you are having fun up there! Don't get spoiled with the cool weather! My younger son will be up there towards the middle of July after he returns from Nepal. He is on a research project with one of his Profs and then will go up to the university's geology and geophysics field camp for the rest of the summer. They are going to have to get him out of the Himalayas first! lol Be safe and catch a lot of fish........and remember the size limit only applies to the fish! Don't throw the small nuggets back! Regards Karl
  9. HEy Chuck, YOu forgot to also say, fear the sound of platex gloves snapping and a voice filled with excitement saying, "COUGH!" Karl Don't go where the huskies go and don't eat the yellow snow! Frank Zappa! A man and his music! lol

  11. Wow after looking at your photo Chris and reading the other replies.....I have discovered that I am blind! No Wait! I can see the edge of light slowly breaking over the lip of something dark and forebodeing! It stinks also! Man! I just shoved my head so far up my buttocks for safety out of shear fright and didn't realize it! I need to go and take a shower! Nice photo Chris! Actually can't wait to see the bridge finished and drive over it one day. Over in Bridge City Texas The Rainbow bridge is the tallest bridge in the south. When I was much younger we had to drive over it as a a requirement for driver's Ed. 177' clear height with a main span of 680 feet! Here is a write up on it. Bridge City, the “Golden Link to the Triangle†is located on the west bank of Cow Bayou adjacent to Sabine Lake and the Neches River. Sabine lake is a 78-square mile saltwater lake opening into the Gulf of Mexico. To enter or leave Bridge City you must cross one of three historic bridges. At the south end of town is the scenic Rainbow Bridge, the south’s tallest bridge. The bridge’s 176-foot clearance height resulted from requirements that any U. S. Navy ship could pass under it. The sister span is the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge, the first cable-stayed bridge in the state of Texas. The Veterans Memorial Bridge which now handle the northbound traffic and is only 145 verticle clearance and its main span is shorter. In the image the Rainbow Bridge is on the right and the Veterans is on the left. What is the verticle clearance of the new bridge going to be when finished? Karl
  12. I know that guy! He was hit by a bus just the other day! The police said that the bus suffered no damage! Karl
  13. Thanks for the advice Don. I am an LDMA, Roadrunner, AAGP, Weaver, And Desert Diggers over in Tuscon and of course 24K for whatever that buys me until the October time frame. Although even though I paid my dues for the current year I don't think that Ely ever sent me the current sticker for the badge. Those are the areas that I am currently planning on working. Just wasn't sure if I should also look at other areas. Other than doing some photography here and there and prospecting where ever I can, I have lots af time from the middle of June to the 1st week in August to have a fun summer. Have the snake guards and an external speaker to hear the pesky rattlers. I am looking forward to this trip and can hardly wait to get over there.
