  1. Woody was one of the best. I haven't seen Woody in many years, but I always enjoyed his stories and seeing all the nuggets he found. I don't think there was a vlf detector made that he couldn't find a nugget with. He will surely be missed.
  2. Chuck, I have been nugget hunting for many years with various VLF nugget detectors. I have always preferred the Goldmasters, but that’s me. I always wanted one of the Minelabs, but couldn’t justify the cost or I’m just too cheep to buy one since I’m only a weekend prospector. But when White’s came out with the TDI the price wasn’t all that bad, so I thought I would give it a try. So far I like it. I have only found 3 small nuggets and they were all no more than 3†deep. I have found bullets as deep as 8†with good signals, so I think the TDI will probably suit my needs. I’m too old to be digging deep holes anyway. The area that I have been searching is loaded with basalt and drives a VLF crazy but I and many others have found nuggets there with a VLF. The TDI just makes it easier because it tunes out the basalt so it’s runs nice and quiet. That in itself is worth it for me. Hopefully I’ll find some bigger gold, but for now I happy with anything I can find……Rick
  3. Frank, you are correct both were less than 3" deep, but they were in an area with lots of basalt that drive VLF crazy.
  4. Here is a couple small nuggets I found yesterday using the TDI with 12" stock coil. The one on the left is 0.4 grams and the one on the right is 0.9 grams. I was hunting out in Bonanza Gulch......Rick
  5. Now that the GPX 4500 has hit the streets, seems like all the chatter about White’s new PI has died down. Anyone have anything new to report on the TDI......Rick
  6. I hope the TDI is not too noisy over the basalt rocks! Our local Minelab dealer say’s his GPX is nice and quite over basalt. In fact he has found nuggets under the basalt.
  7. Keep that up and you just might find OJ's......Rick
  8. You would probably get the same kind of hands on lessons that Kellyco gives (none).
  9. Cabela's is now selling Minelabs. Who will be next?
  10. Any news on the release date for the new White's yet?
  11. Thanks Bob. We will just have to wait for it's release.
  12. Bob, How did the test turn out in the serpentine ground mixed with red hemetite?
  13. I saw some pictures that Greg posted on one of the other forums. He was working the wet sand at one of the beaches in his area and the depth look pretty impressive.
