  1. Beautiful gold Frank AND THAT ARROWHEAD if you turn it point down it makes a real evil animal head.. Rodd
  2. rquag I agree with grubstake 45 auto and pack like U are overnighting it, as Garimpo says always wear and be prepared.. Rodd
  3. Thanx Fred I'll try that it should solve the problem the main problem was as you say,my belt is always to low you know the past middle age bulge Ha Ha LOL.. Rodd
  4. Damn,,,,end of a good story Doc %Rodd
  5. Nvcris I have a hipstick and I havn't used very mutch because the holder that hooks to your belt is way too long for me and the round piece on the bottom pushes into my groin when I do a serious bend over,,so I thought about cutting it off so it wouldn't poke me so bad that I can't wear it....Do U have any suggestions...? Some of the problem is my short waist to groin length and my droopy drawers that make my belt lower than it should be. Rodd
  6. I don't have too many complaints about my GPX 4500 except the above said items.. No offence to the Ausies but they seem to have a clunky "overkill" mindeset when building some things you don't need a D 10 buldozer to level a wheelbarrow load of dirt..Bigger is clunky smallis smart. So how many minelabs are there compared to Iphones?? Costs a lot of money to design and prove it out or does it? Minelab hasn't come up with much in the way of improvements for a long time some backyard tinkers claim they can make the old 2200 do about the same thing as the 5000 What I don't understand is why can someone in the USA not come up with a model as good or is it like Microsoft a one sided patented monoply.. It would be nice to see most of our money stay here in North America.. Best to all to those who beep.. Rodd
  7. 44 MAGNUM VERSUS 460 S&W Hi Rob There is a lot of difference The 44 Remington mag fires a 300 grain bullet at a velocity of 1,244 fps with 1,030 foot lbs energy The 460 S&W mag fires a 300 grain bullet at a velocity of 1,905 fps with 2417 foot lbs energy so that's a little more than double... I think if I was buying another one I would get the 5" barrel "a lot more kick but mutch easier to cary 3" shorter is mutch easier to cary and if you ever do have to shoot a bear it will probably be at close range. Ha Ha if I ever have to shoot one I want to see the colour of his eyes then shoot a big hole in him drive my Razor through and be on my way LOL. This is how it figgures bullet weight in grains X velocity squared devided by 450400=foot lbs energy example 150gr.bullet at 2700 fps 150 X 2700 squared devided by 450400===2428 foot lbs of energy Take care rob and how's your hand doing, good I hope Rodd
  8. Gravelwasher ak Nuggethunter LOL Any good voltage setup should work fine you should try and find our how mutch current draw your machine takes as a good sized Lipo is capable of enough current to make toast,I would find out the draw and then double the size of the fuse on the outward side of the regulator to detector... To get the right voltage you have to tinker with the resistor value or use a variable pot and then check the output voltage with a voltmeter. The battery for the minelab 4500 is $500.00 instead of replacing the lipos when they die you have to buy the whole thing amp reg charger...RETARDED that's what I think all for the sake of 4 C sized Lipos. Happy huntin Rodd
  9. Excuse me!! Say the word Acruate Locators and I'm slamming the door seems to me they have some pretty sticky detectors. looks like that gold came from the cleaners, was all just below the surface it seems. Rodd
  10. How much more powerful is that 460 over a .44 Mag? The last couple of season to Alaska I was packing the lightweight S&W .44 Mag. Talk with you soon, Rob Allison Hi Rob There is a lot of difference The 44 Remington mag fires a 300 grain bullet at a velocity of 1,244 fps with 1,030 foot lbs energy The 460 S&W mag fires a 300 grain bullet at a velocity of 1,905 fps with 2417 foot lbs energy so that's a little more than double... 11. OK, I will never again complain about snakes here in Az! ACK!!!...I wouldnt want to have that in the back of my mind while im detecting with headsets on. Tom H. Tom I bought myself a set of those electronic hearing protectors they amplify sound up to 8 times better than you can hear with your naked ear but when the sound is louder than 85 decibels they turn off and work like regular hearing protectors....that way I can shoot my cannon and not defen myself...and also hear the bears or nasty snakes.. I use a speaker on my shoulder works great Tlater Rodd
  12. I was out hunting nugs 3 weeks back found a nice lil one later we were sitting inside the trailer and I saw this Grizzly bear coming into camp was around 18 feet from the trailer with the light plant running then a little closer he heard the camera click and looked not the least afraid at all so I popped a bear banger off didn't scare him a bit just wandered over to the next campsight sat on his behind and looked at us. Down the beach a half mile he showed at some other campers place they tried to chase him off with a razor he just stood up and looked at them they also shot the shotgun off cloce to him to no avail they freaked and moved out of there.. So I thought I would get some bear deterent to pack with me a 460 Smith&Wesson magnum ........... The small shell is a 357 Magnum the other is the 460S&W The nugget was 2.7 grams Keep a cool tool Rodd Its a bummer when the bear stops to read the sign LOL Back to top Quote

I am not going through this kind of pain again! Grubstake Well Grubstake: If that be the case then you better not have another heart attack, looks like someone got at you with a chain saw!.. Glad to hear you are feeling somewhat better...and for the lead save it for obama!!!!!! Rodd Ps maybe give him a led enema....
