I saw a SD 2000 for sale in a small engine repair/prospecting shop in Montana for $1000. JP said if he had to go back to swinging a 2000 it would make him want to quit prospecting.....He could find gold with it where others have gone with their GPX and find what most would miss,I think JP could find gold with a witching stick........but still the better the equipment the better chance if finding the good stuff........Idaho Al ps any who want to know the where a bouts of that SD let me know< I have the guys card with address and phone #

I cannot understand the bickering about different machines, I have Garretts, Minelabs, a Fisher GB2 and a Bounty Hunter for the grand kids. They all do what they are designed to do. I like them all and do not plan on selling any of them. If everyone liked only one make and model there would be no competition and the technology would stagnate. That's my two bits worth. I do like the thought of having a compact ( Minelab 2300 or Garrett ATX ) waterproof detector tho......IdahoAl

Hey Thanks guys, I am not a firefighter per sae, I work in Logistics. Thats part of the Incident Command System, What we do is supportg the Firefighters with what they need to do their job, be it tools, epuipment, everything that comes in to a fire comes by way of Logistic. Our main camp was at the Meyer High school and the the main Spike camps were Rulus and Crown King with a couple of smaller spikes. Last year I was On the Wallow Fire at Luna Lake just out of Alpine and my wife was on the Horseshoe 2 Fire. I got to see some awsome country. Hello All, I just returned to Idaho from a fire assignment in Arizona, The Gladiator Fire. My assigned duties included going up to Crown King every other day........There I was in Gold country with no detector, not even a gold pan and no time to prospect anyway...Do any of you prospect up that way and know any of the Crown King history..?? ANY AND ALL INFO is welcome...I am going to come back to this area this winter..I do wish those of you that live in Arizona NO MORE FIRES! Idaho Al
